A great way to add variety to your classroom activities!

Tip! Turn your normal everyday classroom exercises into a game-like activity. By adding just 1 small prop, students will have fun reviewing vocabulary and important grammar topics in class. For example, write the numbers 1-6 on the board with various expressions (e.g., adverbs of frequency, collocations, verbs, etc.) and use the dice to determine which expression/verb the student must use in a speakng or writing activity!

For collocations, have nouns listed from 1-6 and different verbs listed in the second column from 1-6. In pairs, students take turns rolling two dice or 1 dice-in-dice and must decide whether or not the verb and noun can be used together. If yes, then they form a sentence or question. If not, they continue taking turns and rolling until they find a correct collocation.

You can also number questions 2-12 on the board and have students carry out a speaking activity in pairs. Each pair of students has a set of dice-in-dice. They take turns rolling the double die, adding the two numbers and then they either ask their partner the corresponding question on the board or answer it.

With the blank dice, you can also write the symbols  -, +, ?. Have students roll to determine what kind of sentence they should create. For more tips on using the blank dice in class, click here.
